Introducing Alexis of Call Me Al Counselling

Alexis Hills of Call Me Al Counselling sat by the canal, contemplating.

Leave your preconceptions about therapy and therapists at the next full stop. Good, now we have a clean slate.

I am human first, therapist second and I may even share some of your struggles. Anxiety. Shame. That sense you’re supposed to have it all together, instead you’re just winging.

Therapy isn’t about Ikea sofas, soft voices, or endless nodding and of course “how does that make you feel”. Not up in here. My approach is raw, practical, sometimes funny, but always honest. Because this is real life, not reel life.

This newsletter is my way of sharing the tools and the occasional gallows humour that actually help people. Sometimes you’ll get bite-sized insights you can use straight away. Sometimes you’ll get a story from my own experience, because nothing connects us more than relatable stories, not just dull therapy therapy (Ok, its helpful at times!)

I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve got skin in the game, my own scars, my own lessons, and a deep belief that being human isn’t something we need to fix. It’s something we need to navigate, together.

If that sounds like your kind of therapy (without the therapy), stick around.

My names Alexis, but of course - you can call me Al.
